Description
BIRT 377 is a potent amd orally bioavailable inhibitor of the interaction between intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and lymphocyte function-associated antigen-1 (LFA-1). BIRT 377 also inhibits the production of IL-2 in vivo. BIRT 377 can be used for researching inflammatory and immune disorders[1].
Biological activity
In Vitro BIRT 377 (20 μM, 6 h) inhibits the mRNA and protein expression of EMT-related markers ZEB2 and Vementin in HT-29 cell whem cocultured with LAD2 cell. BIRT 377 (20 μM, 24 h) inhibits the cell migration of HT-29, when cocultured with LAD2. In Vivo BIRT 377 (3-10 mg/kg, po, once daily for 14 days) inhibits the production of human IgG in hPBMC-injected mouse models, with an effect comparable to that of anti-LFA-1 antibodies.
